Storage:

Blackberries are a very perishable fruit. They can turn and mold within 24 hours. It is best to process blackberries the same day they are picked. Remove the overripe berries for immediate consumption. Gently wash the batch of berries with a colander, spread them over a paper towel covered plate or pan in order to soak up some of the water. Then place in plastic bag for freezing. The tighter you can seal without air the longer the berries will last. This will allow you to enjoy them throughout the year. They will last between 6 and 9 months if frozen.
